A fresh look for popular Southport salon Lox Lounge

The team at Lox Lounge hair salon in Southport town centre have enjoyed glowing reviews from customers after expanding into bigger new premises.

Due to their ongoing success in recent years, Lox Lounge has moved the short distance from their previous venue and across the road into 5-7 Union Street, which was home for many years to the Over The Moon Kids Boutique.

Owner Chelsey Johnston says the move has given Lox Lounge more space and has enabled her to take on more stylists and open two new beauty rooms.

Chelsey boasts over 14 years in the hair industry. After many years working and training with some fantastic hairdressers and salons, she decided to open her own business and in 2021 Lox Lounge was formed along with her best friends.

She described opening the salon as “the best decision I have ever made”.

Since then the salon has gone from strength to strength, with the expansion bringing positive comments from their many loyal customers, as well as now being able to welcome more new clients.

Lox Lounge is home to a team who are all dedicated and passionate about all things “hair”.

They each have several years’ experience in the industry which means that they are able to listen and understand what customers are wanting to achieve as well as being able to deliver.

Whether it be colour, cutting or styling they can also help you with the right aftercare for your hair so you can maintain and achieve the look from your own home.

They give a warm welcome to new people who may be worried about visiting a new salon, aiming to offer a great salon atmosphere and a lovely, professional, yet chilled and relaxing environment.

Chelsey said: “After five amazing years at our first salon on Union Street we decided we needed to expand our business due to the demand of new clients.

“We love being on Union Street so it only felt right that when the new premises became available we had to have it.

“It’s a lovely street to be on, we have an excellent relationship with the other business owners here.

“There are some well-established businesses here such as Tapper’s Cafe and The Guest House pub, but we’ve also enjoyed seeing some exciting new ventures opening in recent months including Pink String & Sealing Wax, Vinylfinders and the John Charles Art Gallery.

“Our new premises have allowed us to take on more stylists with it being a bigger space. Our first salon had six styling units and that was tight.

“We have now got nine styling units in a more luxurious spacious setting.

“The bigger premises also meant that we could add two beauty rooms and from September the salon will be also offering facials with our new beauty therapist @skinandbeautybyholly

“We are all so excited for everyone to come and see the new shop - it looks amazing and I’m sure you will all love it! It’s been a huge transformation.

“Myself and The team would like to thank all our clients old and new for their support over the last 5-6 years.

“We look forward to welcoming and meeting new clients.”

The move has been celebrated by Lox Lounge’s clients, and also by Chelsey’s team.

She said: “I’m so proud of my team! They work so hard and they deserve this gorgeous new shop to work in.

“Although it was a risk, especially in the current climate, I am so glad I took the plunge.

“It’s my dream salon, and I can finally look at it and say I’m so proud of it.”
