Occulo Lounge Southport to Kick Off Fundraising Month in June

Occulo Lounge in Southport is preparing to kick off an exciting month of fundraising for the Southport FC Community Foundation.

The stylish venue, on the corner of Lord Street and Nevill Street, is inviting people to enjoy events including a 5-a-side charity tournament; a charity quiz; a cocktail class and more.

It’s also a great way of celebrating Occulo Lounge’s third birthday, which takes place on Sunday 7th June 2026, three years after opening in Southport.

Each year in June, every Lounge venue across the UK chooses a charity to raise money for. This good cause is often linked with the local community or a Lounge employee. Throughout the month, a series of events is then held to raise money.

In Southport, Occulo Lounge has chosen to support the Southport FC Community Foundation, who deliver a range of sports programmes, education and employability support for young people, and wider community initiatives focused on wellbeing, reducing isolation, and youth engagement.

5-a-Side Charity Tournament

Monday 29th June 2026

Location: KGV Sixth Form College 

The Southport FC Community Foundation LoungeAid 5-a-Side Charity Tournament is set to be the finale of the LoungeAid fundraising month — a day built around football, community, hospitality, and raising as much money as possible for charity.

The invitation is open for teams from local businesses to sign up and take part.

The aim is to create a fun, competitive, and highly social tournament that showcases the community spirit within Southport while supporting a great cause.

Entry will cost £5 per person, with no strict cap on number of entries at this stage as Occulo Lounge wants to involve as many businesses and organisations as possible.

The goal is simple: bring the community together, create a brilliant atmosphere, raise as much money as possible for charity, and finish LoungeAid month with one final unforgettable event.

Big Fat Charity Quiz

The Big Fat Quiz for LoungeAid is set to be one of the standout fundraising

events of the month.

It hopes to bring together entertainment, competition, prizes and importantly, community all in support of charity.

Hosted by Gibbo, the event is designed to be a high-energy social quiz night that welcomes everyone from local hospitality businesses and regular customers to friends, charities, and supporters from across the Southport community.

With a £2 entry per person, the aim is simple: raise as much money as possible while creating a night people genuinely want to be part of.

The quiz itself will feature 5 main rounds alongside 5 bonus rounds, giving teams plenty of opportunities to compete throughout the night.

Lounge Cocktail Class

Friday 19th June 2026, 

Occulo Lounge, hosted by Matty

The LoungeAid Cocktail Class (£30) is planned as a fundraising experience designed to combine entertainment, hospitality, and social atmosphere while raising significant money for charity as part of the wider LoungeAid campaign.

Hosted by Matty, the event will give guests the opportunity to step behind the bar and experience an interactive cocktail-making session based around signature Lounge cocktails, alongside a selection of additional creations and surprises throughout the evening.

The aim is to create an experience that feels both professional and fun.

Occulo Lounge Supervisor and Community Manager Matty Lumsden said: 

“We are delighted to be supporting the Southport FC Community Foundation this year.

“We’re enjoying working with Scott Blundell and his team from the club.

“We have been impressed by all the work that the Southport FC Community Foundation does for local people in our town.

“A few people who work at Occulo Lounge are Southport FC supporters too!

“The Southport FC Community Foundation is excellent at inspiring change through the power of football and we thought they’d be the perfect organisation to support.

“It’s going to be a fun month. As well as our big main events, we’ll be doing more too - that includes climbing Mount Snowdown on 15th June! We’ll be doing bake sales; book sales; bingo; a kids’ day and more.

“We hope to attract lots of support from people joining us and taking part, as well as donating via our JustGiving page"

LoungeAid 2025 raised a whopping £217,200 collectively.
